A genus of plants, natural order <em>Leguminosæ</em>, one species of which, <em>C. Indicus</em>, furnishes a sort of pulse used in tropical countries. It is a shrub from 3 to 10 feet high, and a native of the East Indies, but now extensively cultivated throughout the tropics, in numerous varieties. The plant is called <em>cajan, pigeon pea, Angola pea, Congo pea</em>, etc.
